Ketamine Assisted Therapy
In the office, low doses of intravenous or subcutaneous, or intramuscular injections of ketamine are administered to patients with treatment-resistant depression. Positive thoughts, discussions, or mediations are helpful as the patient becomes disinhibited from the medication. An acute course is six treatments over two weeks, and some patients require maintenance or booster treatments at less frequent intervals. Patients must remain on the premises for two hours.
